On Saturday, February 1, the Greater Nanticoke Area Athletic Recognition Committee will conduct their annual Wall of Fame induction ceremony.  Twenty-two former athletes from the City of Nanticoke, Newport, Conyngham and Plymouth Townships, which includes Nanticoke, Newport, Harter, John S. Fine and Greater Nanticoke Area High Schools, will be inducted as part of the Class of 2025.  Members of this year’s class include: Bill Swift (1925), Edmund Shedlosky (1931), Douglas Turley (1936), Thomas Tereshinski (1944), Don WIlliams (1950), Richard Rutkowski (1957), George Yanchek (1961), Alan Zerfoss (1966), Jack Kocienski (1967), Ed Gorka (1967), Charles Wetzel (1968), Thomas Bilko (1970), Brian Kawczenski (1974), Paul Kotulak (1975), Ray Distasio (1976), Francine Greco (1985), Gwen Kielar (1985), Tori Zubritski (1987), Jim Domzalski (1993), John Beggs (1993), Mike Oresick (1993), Mike Vnuk (1994).

The induction ceremony and plaque unveiling will take place at 2:30 PM in the main hall of the Nanticoke Area High School.  At approximately 3:00 PM, the class will be introduced in the gym prior to the Nanticoke Area Trojan basketball game against Dallas.  The public is invited to attend the induction ceremony and introduction at the game. 

The GNA Wall of Fame is an ongoing endeavor of the Greater Nanticoke Area Athletic Recognition Committee, a group of graduates formed in 2014, whose mission is to recognize the accomplishments of the past and inspire present and future GNA athletes to continue that excellence.  The inaugural Wall of Fame ceremony was held in 2020 and new classes are inducted annually.
